WHAT DO I LEARN BY TEACHING A MAGAZINE BRANDING INTENSIVE IN ROME?

I learn to remember my days as a college student, feeling completely overwhelmed as I tried to embrace conceptual thinking and all of the tools of design. I learn to be patient and to breakdown big thoughts into smaller thoughts to create stepping stones. I learn to be more articulate with those thoughts. I learn to break up the crystallized brain pathways that lead me to fast solutions. I learn again, that all of the tools of design are worthless If there is no critical thinking. I learn to reach for a pencil and paper again. I learn to remember the thousands of years of the joy of human spirit, imagination, hope, triumph, fear, love and beauty by simply being in this extraordinary place. I learn from my students every day. I learn I have much to learn, to feel humbled again and again. I learn to say Grazie Mille to it all.
